IC: The White Bears (Updated) || A large mountainous region separates the currently discovered Nitika from the rest of its land. On the other side, in the land of Shezade, a family group of polar bears exists. It is made up of a leader female, her mate, their two cubs, and three other polar bears. They have never ventured from the cool climate of Shezade, but have for the longest time been trying to get over the mountains, curious about the other side. News and Announcements Change is something that occurs endlessly, and Nitika is no different. It is ever-evolving. Oftentimes, the administration will need to address the community: whether it be on modifications made to the site, or updates regarding the community and the site itself, this is where you may keep up on all things Nitika. Both in character and out of character announcements are enclosed, and you are entitled to read them.
Guestbook Those new to the environment of Nitika need someplace to go, to learn what they may be getting themselves into. Here, those visitors may leave questions or comments, and provide input to better Nitika. There are things here designed especially for guests who want to learn more about us before dedicating their time to joining. But for those who are looking for a much easier commitment, our advertising boards are here. Whether promoting your RPG for the first time or returning and ad we posted on your site, or perhaps posting your wishes to affiliate, this is the place to do so.
Member Activities Here at Nitika, we appreciate our members. And so, we have created a sort of lounge for them, where they may associate with one another, partake in or create contests, and share their artwork. All threads in regards to keeping track of your characters can be made in the sub-board Roleplay Chat, or you may fabricate a journal from the perspective of your bear. And then, not all of us are artistically talented. This is accomodated for, with our hand-selected site artists that can make you graphics for the leaves you've been saving. It's a place of many possibilities for the member, and a good way to escape the world of the roleplay.
Important Information You simply cannot get through life without a simple guideline, entirely carefree. To ensure that you do not meet any extreme difficulties, or for that matter, cause them for us, the information enclosed must be abided by at all times. Those foolish enough to be ignorant to the information here shall suffer the consequences when faced with a challenge that requires their knowledge of the rules.
Character Creation Bears. They are the essential key to the world of Nitika. The dominant species, they have most control over the welfare of Nitika. But more importantly, there is no roleplay without them. If you desire to create your bear, you have come to the right place. Enclosed is a form for you to utilize in the development of your character. Consequentially, however, you must follow all the rules and guidelines provided to you; they are very clear and there is no adequate excuse for making your bear incorrectly. However, staff and members will assist you in meeting the requirements for your bear to lumber across Nitika's planes.
Additions Muse can come at the strangest of times. It can be difficult to use in the breief period of when it's around if one has only a single bear to roleplay. For those of us who are looking for a new character--the easy way--this is the place to come, where characters may be adopted. But here also is the offspring board, where new bear comes can become part of the roleplay. This is where you shall post if your bears mate at the breeding grounds. This, in turn, leads to the problem of getting rid of cubs without a roleplayer. Auditions may be hosted on this board for cub roleplayers. It's a board of many oppotunities to acquire new characters.
Along the Way Nitika is a massive island. The bears only inhabit a small percentage of this vast land, and they must come upon this discovered area somehow. Your first post on Nitika will be along the way to your bear’s new life. You cross a massive, flat plateau, one scattered with few trees and of browned grass. Suddenly, you spot something in the distance. Is it a new home? Or perhaps just a mirage? No, it is opportunity. It is opportunity to start all over, with strangers who know nothing about you…
The Limits Even in the terra where any can rule, and freedom is the most important of all laws, there must be some sort of order. Here are the limits that apply to bears within the free lands. They do not stretch beyond the borders of the free lands; only the inhabitants of Uzadi, Tolkien, Reglisse, and Shezade must obey the regulations set out here. But beyond these basic rules, the specific laws of the family groups, and all the information pertaining to each individual one, can be found here.
Uzadi, the flatlands. It is to the north, second coldest of all Nitika's lands. A tundra is settled towards the nothernmost part, dead in the winter but scattered with wildflowers in the summer. It's not always cold, but usually so, and not a place for any bear of thin fur in the dark wintertime. A lake is nearby, the Malati snaking away from it and into other lands. Aditi Coastline, one of the few beaches along the shore, is within region of Uzadi. Just off it branches the rock bridge, a man-made formation that the humans used to climb across for the thrill of adventure. But this task is nothing to bears. Those who truly desire the thrill of daring must travel to the heart of Uzadi, the most severe elevational change in these flatlands--the fault. Singh Fault, carved deep into the earth. It yawns open, the darkness a black mist into the unknown. No bear should venture too close to the opening, unless they wish to meet a violent death.

This land appears to have always been the epicenter of attention, during rule of man and bear alike. It was once a home to a large village and bazaar, where people bustled about on their necessary errands. Now, it is nothing but unsalvagable debris, a muddle of the past with few momentos in good enough shape to make out. The bears, however, have flocked to Tokien for a different reason: to have a family. The plateau where breeding can succeed is just east from the ocean's waters, and off where the land is flat, a sudden break has caused a cliff. However dry and often droughted the plateau may be, Tolkien is rarely a dry place. The wetlands prove dangerous, waiting to grab hold to a creature and suck it into the depths. As do the rapids, rushing at great speed, southwards towards the plateau. Finally, the rainforest. The wettest place on Nitika, it is not only uncommon for rain to be lacking, it has not occured in years. But with the weather so erratic lately, anything's possible...

One of the warmer spots on Nitika, its temperatures are in harsh contrast with those of Uzadi or Shezade. It is the land of the panda bears, their homeland. And because of this, there is a bamboo grove, embedded into Yash Forest. Here, it is humid and a thick mist often hangs in the air, the moisture so prominent it can be almost choking. The forest itself is not so heavy with humidity, perhaps because it settles into the branch of the river running through here. This very river must end somewhere, and so it does: it empties into the gorgeous bay waters, making it a temporary home for saltwater and freshwater fish; a mingling. Walk down the shore awhile and you'll happen upon the second stretch of reasonable sized beach. But its rocky texture makes it useless. Not far off, there are two warmer lands: the savannah and chaparral. There are a true picture of Reglisse's climate, and few bears can dwell there for long without acquiring heat stroke.

An icy epitome of the frozen world, Shezade is cut off from all other lands by the mountain. But a hidden pass connects it to Uzadi, and so they become linked. Shezade, however, is to become the site for wars to come, and for peace to reach this land, it will take an extent of time. Like an ice queen's tomb, it shall appear haunted for so long, and just when one thinks war is over, it's only a matter of time before things begin again. As blood stains the ice, diffusing out over its frozen surface, again and again, one would wonder... will there ever be peace? Can the ice field, the alpine forest, the mountains, the cavern, any of it... will blood ever cease to soil the snow, or is this land destined to be under seige forever?

Promised Lands
The Perks Elite. Lucky. Upgraded. No matter what words you use to describe them, upgraded members have benefits for their activity and dedication to the site. Here, there priviledges are located. A discount shop, exclusive updates, a special chatroom, among other things--here all perks OOC are for no one but the exclusive to see. No worries; good activity will earn you enough leaves so that purchasing upgrade time can be made possible. While upgrades are not required to get the most out of Nitika, they are an advantage to those who are willing to put their effort into the site, and it is appreciated. So they get a treat. Reward. Benefits. No matter what words you use.
Lope across the terra, to a bay by the name of Rama. Continue into the warm waters, where the Malati drains into the sea. Swim across, utilizing your strength to stay safely above the depths. Those who can make it across--upgaded members only--will arrive on a sliver of sandy beach, all but two yards to the grass. And just beyond this is a great canopy of trees; a forest. Trot forwards in wonder, shaking your pelt free of the saltwater that clings to it, and gape at the immensity of the trees, the vastness of the wildlife. But beyond, there is a lake of peculiar origins, and a cavern with a pleasant secret deep under the ground. As the forest slowly becomes scarce, a great space opens to a field of wildflowers, deer, and an abundance of prey. Cross the field to find a much wider beach, of the softest sand and warm waters. It's a place any bear could live off of in complete peace, but one few have the pleasure of accessing.
